“Planner? Is that a real job?”

Yes. Yes it is.

I started my adult life as a contractor, building homes for people who wanted a nice house to live in. I view planning as taking that one step further – building nice communities where people can enjoy their lives.

I happen to be a planner that specializes in the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). I work with government officials, county agencies, residents, and landowners, helping them identify strategies that will in turn help them build a better place to live.

In my previous capacity as a consultant, most of my clients were located in the Hudson Valley region of upstate NY. But I’ve also served municipalities as far west and north as the Finger Lakes, the Tug Hill Plateau, and the Adirondack region of upstate New York. Since taking a position with Columbia County as Senior Planner, my consulting activities have diminished significantly. However, I stil work with a few long-term clients located outside of Columbia County.

My home office is located in the town of Stockport, Columbia County NY.
My physical address is 1583 Route 9, Stuyvesant, NY  12173.
